ABOUT ME:

If you don't already know, my name is Richard Black. I am currently an Associate Instructor at the Fresno Institute of Technology in Clovis California.

Part of the reason I threw this web page together is that I wanted my students to have some way to continue to learn and ask questions even after they've gone home for the day. Some of my students have to travel quite a distance to be at school, and I want them to be able to ask questions while they are fresh in the mind.

But enough about that. More about me…

Needless to say, I love computers. I received a commodore VIC 20 as a gift from my mother when I was 13 years old, and fell in love with it. I would spend hours in my room programming in BASIC. (Remember BASIC?) the rest is history. I had consulting jobs at 14, Repair jobs by 15. By 16 I was destroying as many computers as I could get my hands on. ( Yes, I said destroying, that's how you learn kids).

I currently reside in my apartment with my pet scorpion HAPPY. He's a very good pet. I water him once a month and only have to feed him every 4 months or so. We have an understanding. I feed him and provide him with a place to live ( Which by scorpion standards is lavish.) and he'll kill me if he ever gets the chance. I think it's a very amicable relationship.

I have a son who is almost 8 years old. His name is Ricky. It is hard for me to belive that he is almost 8. He is an extremely intelligent young man, and I love him very much. I don't get to see him as much as I would like, but I'm hoping that soon all of that will be taken care of.
